Know before you start

Every output is JPG. Transparent areas are filled with white, and transparency cannot be preserved.
The tool changes compression quality but does not reduce image dimensions.
A small or already compressed source image may not become meaningfully smaller.

Common problems and fixes

If the result looks blocky, move the quality slider higher and try again.
If the file is still too large, use Resize Image first or use the target-size image tool.
If you need transparency, use an image conversion workflow that keeps PNG or WebP instead.
