Compress Image

Compress one or several images with a simple quality control. Docsy converts each selected image to a smaller JPG and shows the total size change.

How to use Compress Image

  1. Choose one or more images from your device.
  2. Set the output-quality slider. A value around 75 is a practical starting point.
  3. Select Compress and download, then compare the downloaded JPG with the original at normal viewing size.

What this tool is best for

  • Reducing photos for websites, email, listings, and forms.
  • Compressing several images in one browser session.
  • Turning supported image formats into broadly compatible JPG files.

Tips for a better result

  • Start near 75 quality, then lower it only if the file must be smaller.
  • Check faces, text, and sharp edges because compression artifacts show there first.
  • Keep the original files until you have reviewed every compressed download.

Know before you start

  • Every output is JPG. Transparent areas are filled with white, and transparency cannot be preserved.
  • The tool changes compression quality but does not reduce image dimensions.
  • A small or already compressed source image may not become meaningfully smaller.

Common problems and fixes

  • If the result looks blocky, move the quality slider higher and try again.
  • If the file is still too large, use Resize Image first or use the target-size image tool.
  • If you need transparency, use an image conversion workflow that keeps PNG or WebP instead.
